Tennessee football officially signed David Sanders Jr. to its 2025 recruiting class earlier this month. The five-star plus offensive lineman joined the Vols on campus after his senior season ended last week.
Sanders officially announced he had made it to campus to join the Tennessee football program with an Instagram story post captioned "time to work" and a picture of his practice jersey.
After signing with Tennessee, he joins the Vols on the same timeline as several current players. Most notably, Nico Iamaleava joined Tennessee's bowl practices after signing his National Letter of Intent with the Vols and joined the team on the sideline of their bowl game.
Sanders looks to be doing the same thing and getting a head start in his college career by getting in some extra work before Tennessee plays Ohio State on Saturday.
Tennessee added another blue-chip player and one of the best players in the class to its roster. Sanders is the only five-star in this year's class, and he is ranked as the No. 6 player in the 2025 recruiting class, No. 1 offensive tackle, and No. 1 player from North Carolina, according to On3.
Josh Heupel, in his fourth year at Tennessee, has brought in the No. 10 recruiting class in the country. He is building elite classes on top of elite classes, which is the first step to becoming a consistent College Football Playoff and National Championship contender.
Expect to see Sanders and other signees around the program this week and on the sidelines for the Ohio State game. The Vols and Buckeyes will be ESPN and ABC's primetime game in the first round. They will kick off at 8:00 PM ET on Saturday night, with College Gameday joining them in Columbus on Saturday morning.
