Tennessee football availability report vs Florida
Tennessee football will look to bounce back from their loss to Arkansas last week as they return to Neyland for the first time in nearly a month. Their defensive secondary and receivers account for the majority of the injury report heading into Florida week.
Ahead of the 2024 season, the SEC announced a new addition to conference week—an availability report. This has gone into effect for all conference games, and each team will declare who is available and who isn't, similar to how NFL teams share their availability every week.
The Vols' ego isn't the only thing battered and bruised after a rough game offensively in Fayetteville last weekend. The Vols receiving corps had to dig into the depth chart to finish the game after Bru McCoy, Squirrel White, and Dont'e Thornton left at some point during the game.
Tennessee Availability
Thornton, White, and McCoy are all on Wednesday's initial availability report, but it looks like they will all be available for Florida. Thornton is questionable, while White and McCoy are listed as probable ahead of their final Tennessee-Florida game. The Vols receiver trio are the only players on the offensive side of the ball who made the report.
As for the Tennessee defense, defensive back Jourdan Thomas and linebacker Edwin Spillman have been listed as out for Florida. Linebacker Ben Bolton has been listed as doubtful, while Christian Harrison is probable.
Florida Availability
Florida's availability report is more extensive than Tennessee's. Nine players are listed as out, and five are listed as questionable.
The players who have been ruled out of the Tennessee game are DB Ja'Keem Jackson, WR TJ Abrams, RB Trepan Webb and KD Daniels, OL Devon Manuel, TE Tony Livingston, WR Kahleil Jackson and Marcus Burke, and DL Jamari Lyons.
Florida players listed as questionable are defensive backs DJ Douglas, Bryce Thornton, and Asa Turner, offensive lineman Austin Barber, and defensive lineman Joey Slackman.
Tennessee and Florida are scheduled to kick off at 7:00 PM ET in Neyland Stadium. The Saturday night game will be Tennessee's Checker Neyland game and could be a pivotal game for the Vols' College Football Playoff chances this season.
