Tennessee football is coming off a 42-9 win over New Mexico State in its penultimate game in Neyland Stadium this year. As a result, the Vols come in the College Football Playoff rankings at No. 20.

The Vols are the eighth team in the SEC in the College Football Rankings. No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 4 Georgia, No. 6 Ole Miss, No. 8 Oklahoma, No. 10 Alabama, No. 14 Vanderbilt, and No. 17 Texas remain ahead of Tennessee.

Some other notable teams in the top 25 are No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Indiana, remaining the top two teams in the country, No. 5 Texas Tech, No. 7 Oregon, and No. 9 Notre Dame.

Tennessee is now almost guaranteed to have a ranked matchup against Vanderbilt to end the season. The Vols have to handle business and get a win in Gainesville this week to remain in the top 25, but the Commodores are locked in to the top 25 and are fighting for a College Football Playoff spot.

The Vols are 7-3 after their win over the Aggies this past Saturday, and now head to The Swamp to take on Florida. It has been more than two decades since Tennessee left the Swamp with a win, but that could change on Saturday.

Florida is 3-7 and without a head coach after Billy Napier was fired earlier this season. While most teams would cruise past the Gators, this is setting up to be another tough rivalry battle for the Vols.

Tennessee and Florida are set to face off at 7:30 PM ET on ABC for another primetime night road game for the Vols.
