What can we all expect from Tennessee football this weekend when the Vols face the Kentucky Wildcats? Vols fans are hoping that a ticked off team takes the field and sends a statement in what is rightfully being labeled as a must-win game for UT following the loss to Alabama.

Tennessee dealing with concerning injury ahead of must-win game vs Kentucky

Earlier in the week, Tennessee opened as 9.5-point favorites over the Wildcats, but things have since changed in a bit of a head-turning way. According to the Vegas oddsmakers, that spread has now dropped to 7.5 points. Is this something for the Tennessee faithful to worry about?

Why in the world has the line moved by two points? Well, Tennessee is dealing with a bit of an injury concern right now, as it's a bit up in the air if standout linebacker Arion Carter is going to be able to play against Kentucky or not.

Carter is officially listed as questionable to take on the Wildcats, but head man Josh Heupel hasn't given much information on his defensive starter. We don't have to tell you that it'd be a major loss for the Vols if Carter isn't able to put the pads on.

Elsewhere, Jermod McCoy has already been ruled out, which wasn't a surprise. Unfortunately, there's no set timeframe for when McCoy will play - if anything, people are starting to worry that he may just rest his knee up to prepare for the NFL Draft and miss the rest of the campaign.

Offensively for Tennessee, Joey Aguilar looked strong against the Crimson Tide, but he had some throws he definitely would have loved to have back. The balanced attack on the ground was great, which will once again need to be showcased against Kentucky.

Offensively for Kentucky, it's unknown if leading rusher Seth McGowan will play either, as he's going to be a game-time decision per Pete Nakos. If he can't play, it will be a major blow for Kentucky. Soon enough, we'll find out the statuses of both Carter and McGowan. If Carter can't play, however, it will be a tough update for the Vols.
