Tennessee football will be just a couple of hours away from the son of one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time after Peyton Manning enrolls his son, Marshall, in Baylor School in Chattanooga.

Marshall had previously spent his middle school football years in Colorado, where Peyton has remained since retiring with the Denver Broncos. It was expected that Marshall would play his high school football out West, but that has quickly changed.
He is heading into the eighth grade this Fall, so he won't quite be ready to begin his college recruiting journey, but it won't be long before college programs across the country begin throwing offers at him.
The Vols immediately have an advantage, being a short drive down I-75 and often hosting the Manning family for football, basketball, and baseball events throughout the year.
Baylor head coach Erik Kimrey made it clear that Manning's arrival won't be a distraction within the program. He was asked about Manning attending Baylor and publicly stated, "I would prefer not to comment on younger players in our program until the appropriate time in their development."
While that won't calm down the excitement at Baylor and throughout East Tennessee about Manning's arrival, it does set the tone for his time in Chattanooga with the Red Raiders.
This will be the first time a Manning plays for a Tennessee team since Peyton's last season in 1997. This will only add to the excitement around Marshall
Peyton will likely follow in his father's and brother's footsteps and not get too involved in Marshall's recruiting, allowing him to make his own decision. However, being two hours from Knoxville won't hurt Josh Heupel and the Vols in their attempt to bring the next generation of Mannings to Rocky Top.
