Tennessee football predicted to flip another recruit after rivalry win
Tennessee defeated Kentucky 28-18 on Saturday night, and in return, it looks like the Vols could flip yet another recruit after another big rivalry win.
Three-star running back Daune Morris is currently committed to the University of Southern California, but that could change. On3 Sports' Steven Wiltfong has predicted that Morris will transfer from USC to Tennessee.
While these expert predictions aren't always correct, it wouldn't be surprising if Wiltfong hits on another correct prediction regarding Tennessee recruiting. On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine gives the Vols a 93% chance of successfully flipping Morris from USC to Tennessee.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pound athlete from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is the No. 43 ranked athlete in the country and ranked No. 18 in the state of Tennessee. Morris initially committed to USC on April 7, 2024, and hasn't made a visit to any campus since June until Saturday night.
Morris visited Tennessee unofficially and watched the Vols' win over Kentucky. His trip to Rocky Top seems to have been impactful as he witnessed Dylan Sampson set the Tennessee single-season record for rushing touchdowns with his 18th and 19th touchdowns on the season against the Wildcats.
This would be the fourth recruit to flip to Tennessee since late March if Morris does flip to Tennessee. Three-star linebacker Brenden Anes, four-star linebacker Jaedon Harmon, and four-star tight end DaSaahn Brame have all flipped to Tennessee over the three months.
USC dropped to 4-5 on the season after a loss to Minnesota on Saturday while Tennessee improves to 7-1. The Vols' on-field success looks to be benefiting the Vols on the recruiting trail as well.
Tennessee has the No. 8 2025 recruiting class in the country. The Vols currently only have one running back in the 2025 class, three-star Justin Baker, who committed out of Buford, Georgia.
