We know that stars aren't supposed to matter, but what in the world is going on this week? Just recently, On3 came out with its updated rankings and of course everyone had their eyes on how things shaped out with quarterbacks for the 2026 class.
Some disappointing news came in for Tennessee football, as quarterback commit Faizon Brandon saw an unfortunate dip in things. Previously, he was ranked five stars and the No. 1 quarterback in the country. Now, though, Brandon is No. 3 in the land and he's a four-star playmaker. Again, yes, people shouldn't care about stars all that much, but how does this make any sense for Brandon?

Tennessee QB commit Faizon Brandon is now ranked a 4-star QB by On3
Earlier this month, Brandon was throwing the ball all over the field at Nike's Next Ones showcase. Before that, the elite prospect looked downright fantastic throughout the week at the Navy All-American Bowl. If anything, this offseason has made Vols fans even more excited about his future.
On3 sees things a bit differently it looks like, as quarterbacks Jared Curtis and Dia Bell, both ranked five stars, have jumped him in the QB rankings. A quick look on social media shows that Tennessee fans are downright furious over this and understandably so.
According to 247Sports, Brandon remains a five-star recruit, ranked the No. 1 QB in the nation, the No. 1 player overall in the country and the No. 1 talent out of North Carolina. Per the 247Sports Composite, he's still a five-star QB, but No. 6 nationally and the No. 2 QB.
Once his senior season arrives, Brandon will look to once again impress before he packs his bags and makes the move to Knowville to begin what should be an electric college career. People are up in arms over his latest ranking from On3, but don't let that take away from the fact that the future is bright for this kid.
