Tennessee football showed out once again on Saturday in its 56-24 win over UAB. The Vols came out of the locker room and dominated early, and made sure to let everyone know the offense wasn't taking a week off with UAB coming to town.

Joey Aguilar led the Tennessee offense throughout an elite first-half run, scoring 42 points in another impressive showing to begin the 2025 season. He finished the day with 218 yards and three touchdowns through the air.

Peyton Lewis led the team on the ground with 81 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. Star Thomas finished the day with 51 yards and one touchdown, while DeSean Bishop had 59 yards and two touchdowns.

Tennessee finished the day with 510 total yards on offense as Heupel and the Vols once again showed out offensively after scoring 41 last week against Georgia and 72 two weeks ago against East Tennessee State.

With the Vols hitting the 500-yard mark today, it is the second time this season that Tennessee has had 500 or more total yards in a game. Tennessee has had at least 490 yards in every game this season.

The defense gave up a couple of second-half touchdowns, making UAB's offensive performance look better than it was. The defense had a couple of busts throughout the game, but largely looked like it had returned to its original self we saw earlier this season.

With the big win over the Blazers, Tennessee now turns to its long SEC schedule. Tennessee is 0-1 in conference play after losing the SEC opener to Georgia, but now the Vols prepare for five-straight SEC games before New Mexico State comes to town in November for its final non-conference game of the season.

Mississippi State is 3-0 coming into Saturday with a date scheduled with Northern Illinois to improve to 4-0 to start the season, so Tennessee's first SEC road trip will be a challenge for the Vols next week.
