Tennessee football could be on the verge of losing a recruit in the 2026 recruiting class. While Josh Heupel and the Vols have been consistently improving its 2026 class, that could change as SEC teams vie for one of the Vols' four-star commits.
Four-star tight end Carson Sneed has been on radars throughout the SEC since his brother Dayton Sneed transferred from Tennessee to North Carolina after the 2024 season.
According to On3 Sports, the younger Sneed brother seems likely to move on from Tennessee after the older Sneed left Rocky Top with a bad taste in his mouth.
It's no secret that since the breakup, Carson Sneed has been looking around. Between Ole Miss and Florida, he has a couple of solid options if he decides to move on from Tennessee.
Ole Miss is one of the top contenders to flip Sneed from Tennessee. He visited The 'Sip earlier this month and talked highly about his visit.
"It was great," Sneed said about his Ole Miss visit. "Coach Cox and Coach Weis sat me down to talk about how they'll use me and how it translates. They showed film to back it up, too."
Sneed also discussed the possibility of Ole Miss flipping him from Tennessee. He said he couldn't give an answer at the time of the visit, but it is a possibility.
"I really liked the plan," Sneed continued. "It fits me as a player and my relationship keeps on improving with them for sure. I mean, they, of course, have a shot, but I couldn't give you a solidified answer right now."
Sneed is visiting Florida this weekend as the Gators look to jump the Rebels and flip him from Tennessee. In his visit to Gainesville, he reportedly met with Offensive Coordinator and Tight Ends Coach Russ Callaway Saturday night as he lays out the plan for Sneed in The Swamp.
It seems like it is only a matter of time before Sneed decides on where he will begin his college football career and it looks like Tennessee is an unlikely destination although he is currently committed to the Vols.
