Now that Tennessee’s roster is starting to take shape, the appetizers are over and we’re in the meat and potatoes of portal season. The Vols have already landed multiple impact players, including Belmont’s Tyler Lundblade, Cal’s Dai Dai Ames, and Loyola Chicago’s Miles Rubin. And Rick Barnes isn’t slowing down, with plenty of roster spots still open.
Tennessee’s hopes of landing Juke Harris comes with an eye-opening price tag
Despite this, Rick Barnes has remained aggressive in their portal approach, as Tennesse is making a serious push for Wake Forest's Juke Harris and even better, they've just received an expert prediction to land Notre Dame's Jalen Haralson. If Tennessee can pull this off, it would be huge. They'd be beating out blue-blood North Carolina, which has been spending endlessly, and the Big Ten's Ohio State. North Carolina has just gotten rid of five-star Dylan Mingo, and they are ready to spend big-time money in the portal. Diebler at Ohio State needs to make a statement this year, so he's also been willing to spend.

Jalen Haralson could committ to Tennnessee soon
On top of that, Haralson is a legit stud player. The 6-foot-7 wing put up 16.2 points, 4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists as a freshman. And when you beat out schools like North Carolina and Ohio State, you know you’ve got something. If Barnes lands him, that’s a huge pickup for Tennessee. It would be a great upgrade from Bishop Boswell, too, who he'd be replacing.
To build on that, Tennessee has already been heating up in the portal and this would be the cherry on top. Maybe the momentum from this, and a little extra cash, would help Tennessee land Juke Harris. If they can pull this off, the Vols will be a preseason top-10 team in next year's polls. Rick Barnes is clearly on a mission to make a Final Four in Knoxville with his fierce approach to the portal.
If Tennessee pulls off landing Haralson, Vols fans should be fired up. Things are looking good right now, but in the NIL era, you just never know.
