Just under five months ago, Legend Bey committed to the Tennessee Volunteers. Then, less than four months later, he decommitted from the Vols and flipped to the Ohio State Buckeyes all in one day.

Now, on National Signing Day, Bey has surprised the world of college football once again, putting pen to paper and signing with... Josh Heupel and the Volunteers.

Yes, you read that correctly. Despite flipping his commitment from Tennessee to Ohio State just a few weeks ago, the all-around offensive powerhouse has officially signed with the Vols.

Signing Day always has its surprises, from players flipping their commitments at the last possible second to some athletes choosing not to sign at all. To put it lightly, Bey's journey has been filled to the brim with surprises, and NSD was no different.

Legend Bey is finally a Volunteer

After signing his future over the Heupel, Bey joined the class of 2026, which ranks seventh in the country and third in the SEC (only trailing the Georgia Bulldogs and the Alabama Crimson Tide). As a matter of fact, his recommitment to Tennessee helped the Vols leapfrog the Texas Longhorns in the national and conference standings.

Bey is one of 27 blue-chip prospects to commit to the Volunteers in the upcoming class, which is headlined by five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon and five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys.

About halfway through NSD, 22 of those 27 blue-chip recruits had signed with Tennessee, setting up Heupel and his staff to bat 1000 on the day.

Throughout his high school career, Bey played both quarterback and running back for North Forney (TX). With 3,783 career passing yards for 38 touchdowns through the air and 4,365 rushing yards for 64 touchdowns on the ground, he has undeniably been an unstoppable force at the high school level.

Heupel officially landing Bey as a future Volunteer was a massive get for the Volunteers and a cherry on top of an already successful National Signing Day.
