2026 4-star EDGE rusher Dre Quinn decommitted from Clemson recently, reopening his recruiting in the middle of the college football season. While there are dozens of teams interested in Quinn, Tennessee is reportedly separating itself from the rest of the competition.
Quinn is one of the top edge rushers in the 2026 recruiting class, ranking as the No. 39 edge rusher in the country and No. 41 player in the state of Georgia.
The Buford, Georgia, native originally committed to Clemson in June, but things have changed, and he will now reevaluate his 39 offers, including those from top programs across the country.
Quinn shared six schools that stand out to him from the rest, and Tennessee made the shortlist along with Georgia Tech, Miami, Mississippi State, Ohio State, and Texas.
While his recruitment is still up in the air, Quinn feels good about his fit within Tennessee's defense, stating that he believes he aligns well with the team's defensive scheme.
"I just feel like I fit in their defense well," Quinn said about Tennessee. "I have a great relationship with Coach Scott, Coach Heupel, and Coach Banks. Pretty much most of the staff, we've talked a lot about me coming in and playing early. I just think I fit well in their scheme."
He also talked about what he values in a team as he reopens his recruitment. Quinn shared he's looking for a place relatively close to home that feels like family.
"I just want to stay close to home, relatively close to home," Quinn shared. "Like not too close but not too far. That's a factor. I want to go to a place where I'm gonna get developed the best, by great coaches. Going to a team that's like a brotherhood, like a family."
Quinn has three official visits set for the rest of this season, including trips to Tennessee, Ohio State, and Miami. He will visit Rocky Top on November 29th as the Vols welcome Vanderbilt to town.
