The Tennessee softball season has been nothing short of impressive for quite some time now, and they are on a roll. Karen Weekly’s Lady Vols have been one of the most dominant teams in all of college softball this seaosn with an astonishing 37-6 record and a 12-6 record in the SEC. The Lady Vols have been dominant all year, and despite a small hiccup in the middle of the year, they have proved to be just fine.

Digging deeper, Tennessee has been at the top of the college softball polls all season and sits at number six in the nation right now. The Lady Vols have the potential to make another deep run in Oklahoma City.

What’s even crazier is the stat that was posted by John Sartori of WVLT Knoxville. After sweeping Kentucky this weekend, the Lady Vols are outscoring their opponents this season 270-57. This is absolutely insane. The Lady Vols average 1.32 runs allowed per game, showing off how impressive the pitching has been and the defense behind it.

Karlyn Pickens has been an ace all season

Karlyn Pickens has been dominant in Knoxville, and this weekend was just another example, tossing her fourth career no-hitter. She’s been lights out this season with a 1.21 ERA and 121 strikeouts in just over 92 innings. She’s been a huge reason why Tennessee’s run differential is so high this season, but you also have to give credit to the defense behind her and the bats at the plate. Tennessee rarely gets shut out and doesn't make too many mistakes in the field. It's a collaborative effort led by the ace Pikens.

The Lady Vols have two more SEC series against Alabama and Missouri before the postseason begins. Many think this year could be the year for Karen Weekly where she wins it all.
