There's going to be a new look for the Tennessee Vols offense this campaign and people are ready to see what the Nico Iamaleava replacement will be able to get done. At this time, however, no one knows who the starter is going to be - not even Josh Heupel.

Despite that, the assumption is that App State/UCLA transfer Joey Aguilar is going to win the job. Should that be the case, there's one area that veteran tight end Miles Kitselman, a former Alabama transfer, would like to see him take charge with.

That'd be to let the rest of the offense know what's going on and for him to be a bit more vocal. While speaking to the press at SEC Media Days, Kitselman didn't hold back in saying there was no real leadership voice on offense in 2024. Is this a bit of a dig at Iamaleava?

Miles Kitselman is ready for the Tennessee QBs to be more vocal this campaign

With Iamaleava being a second-year freshman in 2024, maybe he was just a bit shy as an underclassman and he was hoping that the veterans would be the leaders in the huddle. Moving forward, however, it will be on the new QB1 to take ownership of that role.

Hey, Kitselman himself should be counted on to be a passionate leader, as he's back in Knoxville after getting an extra year of eligibility. If someone needs to be fired up on the sideline or in the huddle, he should speak up with confidence.

At the same time, this is also part of the duties for a team's quarterback, which is why it's important for things to change once Week 1 gets here. Again, the official QB decision hasn't been made yet, but the tough call will arrive from Heupel soon enough.

Thus far, Aguilar has done a lot of things to win over his new teammates and his experience as a starter with App State will obviously give him a bit of an upper hand in the battle with George MacIntyre and Jake Merklinger. Should Aguilar be named the starter, Kitselman will be counting on him to be the field general in more ways than one.
