Need some news to make your day even better? Leave it to Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel to bring a smile to your face, as the Vols' leader has once again come out on top of a big-time recruiting battle. This time around, it's a 2026 linebacker who will be Knoxville-bound.
Moments ago, Pike Road, Ala., 'backer Braylon Outlaw took to social media to announce that he indeed has committed to Tennessee. Per 247Sports, Outlaw is a three-star prospect. He held additional offers from Oregon, South Carolina, Arkansas, Michigan, Maryland, Ole Miss and others.
LB Braylon Outlaw has committed to Josh Heupel and the Tennessee Vols
Heupel and his staff are still looking to put the finishing touches on the 2025 class, but they're getting a lot of work done for '26. Outlaw, who was recently on campus for an unofficial visit, is now the sixth known junior to commit to Heupel and his staff.
He's joined by Faizon Brandon, Tyreek King, Brandon Anderson, Carson Sneed and Tyson Bacon. The '26 haul is already off to a tremendous start, which shouldn't be a surprise. Heupel has been prioritizing '25 guys for visits, but he's also been hard at work in bringing in guys from ' 26 too.
That's going to continue to be the case for the rest of the season, including this weekend's upcoming matchup against Mississippi State. The Vols are big-time favorites going up against MSU and another convincing win could be on the way. Should that be the case, don't be surprised if more recruiting victories come in for Tennessee too. This team is on a roll both on and off the field.
