Tennessee vs. Texas odds taking a 2-point swing gives Vols fans extra reason to believe

So you're saying there's a chance? On Sunday, the opening betting line for Tennessee vs. Texas was posted, and the Vols were 5.5-point underdogs. A lot has changed in 24 hours, though, as those odds have now taken a huge turn. That's right, Tennessee is now only a 3.5-point 'dog' for this one, per FanDuel Sportsbook, with the betting line dropping by two points out of nowhere.

Does Vegas think the Vols are getting ready to post one of the biggest upsets of the season? That could be the case, as both teams are 3-0 this year and the Tennessee locker room isn't scared of anyone. In order for the Vols to post a shocking win, however, Josh Heupel's studs are going to have to be at their best from start to finish.

Faizon Brandon will be the key to Tennessee shocking No. 1 Texas at Neyland

On offense, everything begins with 5-star freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon. The youngster has looked sharp in his first three games, but he's going to have to take his game to a totally different level against the Longhorns. Furman, Georgia Tech, and Kennesaw State let Brandon get away with freshman mistakes, but that won't be the case vs. Texas - he's got to be as close to perfect as possible.

There's only going to be more pressure on Brandon to look like a superstar if DeSean Bishop isn't ready to rock come Week 4. Unfortunately, the stud running back suffered a hip injury in the win over Kennesaw State. He came back for two carries in the second half after getting hurt, which Heupel admitted was a mistake.

It's completely up in the air if Bishop is going to play on Saturday, but countless people are keeping their fingers crossed that he'll be good to go. If he can't, all eyes will turn to Daune Morris to help take pressure off Brandon against an incredibly strong Texas defense.

Speaking of defense, Jim Knowles is going to have to cook up quite the game plan to ruin Peyton Manning's day and slow down Arch Manning and Co. The secondary alone will be tested, with Cam Coleman ready for a monster game, which won't come easy for him. Arion Carter will need to make sure the D is totally focused and in constant communication on any in-game adjustments.

This is going to be a complicated game as a whole for Tennessee, but the same can be said for Texas. The Longhorns are coming off a lopsided win over UTSA, but they looked sluggish at times, with Arch Manning pointing out afterwards that there's a lot for Texas to clean up before making the trip over to Knoxville.

Vols fans will be hoping that sluggish play continues, as a Tennessee upset would turn the college football world as a whole upside down. This is going to be a blockbuster affair, and we can't wait for it to get here.
