One of the major takeaways for Tennessee football this season has no question been the emergence on offense of Joey Aguilar and his go-to receiver. That'd be Chris Brazzell II, who has quickly turned into WR1 for Josh Heupel and his wonderful passing attack.

Not only is Brazzell leading the SEC in receiving yards, but he's looking like one of the best wideouts in the country. Could he end up pushing for the Biletnikoff Award? That wouldn't be a surprise to Aguilar, who is loving what he's seeing out of the WR through five games:

Chris Brazzell II has been a superstar in 2025 for Tennessee football

Just how great has Brazzell been? On the year, he has posted 31 receptions for 531 yards and seven touchdowns. No one has forgotten about his monster game against Georgia too, where he hauled in six receptions for 177 yards and three touchdowns.

It was a breakout game for him and it showcased to the rest of the country that he's the real deal. Brazzell has already blown his 2024 numbers out of the water too - last year he had 29 receptions for 333 yards and two scores to his name.

He should have no issues reaching 1,000 yards in '25. Unfortunately for Tennessee fans, they won't be able to see Brazzell and Aguilar put on a show this weekend, as the Vols are on a Week 6 bye. However, UT will be back in action next weekend at Neyland Stadium against Arkansas, and Alabama in Tuscaloosa will follow.

As things stand, Tennessee is ranked the No. 15 team in the country and a little bit of work needs to be done for the Vols to sneak into the College Football Playoff for the second time in program history. The defense is getting healthy at the right time, while the offense is scoring at will. That needs to continue to be the case, with Brazzell and Aguilar surely set to keep things rocking the rest of the way.
