Tennessee football has capped off a top-ten class after officially signing five-star offensive lineman David Sanders Jr. a day after National Signing Day. It's Josh Heupel's first top-ten class after three straight top-15 recruiting classes.
Three-star running back Justin Baker is one of two backs in the 2025 recruiting class who have officially signed with the Vols. Baker celebrated his official signing by showing off his speed in the Georgia State Playoffs.
The Buford running back found an opening and had a huge 75-yard run before getting tripped up at the five-yard line. The run set up another score to go up to ten points, but Buford ultimately lost to end Baker and the Wolves' run at a state title.
Baker's speed and explosiveness are something Heupel and the Vols have consistently targeted since arriving on Rocky Top. The strategy has fared well for the Vols, who have some really good running backs and skill players since Heupel became the Tennessee head coach.
Three-star Duane Morris joins Baker as the other running back in the 2025 recruiting class. The Vols currently sit at No. 10 in the country for the 2025 class, and the Vols were not the favorite to sign Baker on signing day. Michigan had a 53% chance to sign him, while Tennessee only had a 30% chance, according to On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine.
The Vols running back room will remain overflowing with talent after this season. The door is going to be wide open for anyone who wants to take it over after Dylan Sampson heads to the NFL.
