Omarr Norman-Lott became the second Tennessee player to be drafted in this year's NFL Draft as the No. 63 overall pick by the Kansas City Chiefs. He follows James Pearce Jr, who was drafted in the first round by the Atlanta Falcons.

The Chiefs have had some success drafting players out of Tennessee, with Eric Berry and Trey Smith highlighting the best Vols to be drafted by the Chiefs.

Norman-Lott became the ninth defensive tackle drafted in the first two rounds of the draft, making the position a high priority for many teams throughout the league.

ESPN writer Matt Miller credits that as part of the reason Norman-Lott was drafted in the second round: the defensive tackle draft board is starting to get thin.

"I was the lowest on Norman-Lott of our group of analysts, but the defensive tackle board has really been wiped out throughout the opening two rounds," Miller writes. "Kansas City needed to identify a tackle who could play next to Chris Jones — and maybe even serve as his eventual replacement.

"Norman-Lott's high potential is backed by his explosive quickness and overall athletic tools. He'll get to learn how to be more consistent alongside one of the best defensive tackles in the league."

Norman-Lott has a great opportunity to learn from one of the best defensive tackles in the game as he plays alongside Chris Jones in the Chiefs' trenches.

Miller makes a bold claim by offering Norman-Lott the opportunity to replace Jones as the Chiefs' premiere defensive tackle, but his ability to develop, as seen during his time on Rocky Top, proves he can become one of the best defensive tackles in the NFL with the right development.

The Chiefs will be the perfect team for him to develop his skills, too, with Steve Spagnola running the defense under the guidance of head coach Andy Reid.
