This one stat proves Tennessee is the undisputed beast team in the country

Tennessee baseball is the only undefeated team remaining in college baseball after its 4-2 win over West Georgia. With the win, the Vols improved to 17-0 on the year and hold the best record in college baseball.

Many teams have struggled with their midweek games this year as top teams across the country have lost to unranked opponents in those games, but Tennessee continues to hold steady and find the win column each and every game.

While the Vols' record tells who the best team in the country is, another stat shows how good Tennessee has been this year and how they are in a league of their own after the first month of the season.

Austin Price shared a graph on X detailing where each of the top 25 ranked teams stands nationally in combined ERA+ (Adjusted earned run average) and OPS+ (Adjusted on-base percentage + slugging percentage). While about 20 teams are clustered in the same area, including Florida, LSU, Ole Miss, Florida State, Arkansas, Alabama, and other front runners, Tennessee is by itself.

The way the graph is laid out, teams with weak pitching and hitting are closer to the top left of the graph, while teams with strong pitching and hitting are closer to the bottom right of the graph.

Tennessee is the only team in the bottom right of the graph with an elite ERA+ and OPS+. Tennessee is in a league of its own right now, as every other team has shown some strong pitching and hitting. The Vols are elite at both.

Tennessee's success will face its second challenge of the year this weekend. The Vols were tested at the Astros Foundation College Classic and showed out against ranked opponents from the Big 12, but its first SEC series is on deck.

The Vols will host Florida for a three-game SEC series this weekend. The first pitch for game one is scheduled for 6:30 PM ET on Friday night. The game can be streamed on SEC Network+ in the ESPN+ app.
