Nobody can burn a bridge quite like Lane Kiffin. No matter where he has worked, no matter where he has been, it always ends the same. Kiffin leaves for another job under questionable circumstances, always making sure that he will never be welcomed back by his previous employer. He embarrassed Tennessee after one season. Now he left Ole Miss out to dry during a playoff run to go to rival LSU...
Naturally, Tim Brando held nothing back when speaking about Lane Kiffin's ramblings to The Athletic.
"This was an example of Lane's narcissism still being so great that he would decide that through a publication based in New York that's got liberal tendencies out the wazoo, to utilize it solely for his justification for abandoning a team that was on the precipice of playing for, and maybe even winning, a national championship."
You could tell Brando was sitting on this all day, waiting to tee off on Kiffin while on WJOX 94.5 FM.
"So much so that he decided to not just throw a state under the bus, not just to throw a region of the country that he represents as an SEC coach under the bus, but a school that without their presence in his career would not have gotten where he is today."
After expressing Kiffin's rampant narcissism, he called him "stupid, arrogant, and condescending."
"You know, Lane, the lesson that I think we need to maybe teach him yet again is that just because the decimal point on your check is where it is, it doesn't give you license to be this stupid. That's what that was. Stupid, arrogant, condescending, and everything you never want to see in a leader of men."
To tie a bow on it, Brando then threw Archie Manning's name into the conversation to prove his point.
"And I've defended Lane many, many times. I have. Archie Manning is a dear friend of mine. I've never heard Archie speak ill on anyone in athletics, other than Lane Kiffin. And I guess there's a reason for it."
Brando might call the kettle black from time to time, but he painted his Kiffin disdain perfectly here.

At this point, unless you happen to root for the LSU Tigers, how could you possibly endorse this man?
Tim Brando went scorched earth armageddon on Lane Kiffin's character
There are character assassinations, and then there is what Brando did over the Birmingham airwaves to Kiffin's ego that is approaching the size of the sun. This is the man who left Tennessee after only one season, only to later popularize the football term of "tarmac-ing" once he inevitably fizzled out at USC. After a few Nick Saban "ass chewings" at Alabama, he was off to FAU to go revitalize his career.
If Kiffin is allowed to go back to any of his many previous employers, Boca Raton is not a bad call. What is still mind-boggling months after he completely abandoned Ole Miss when his team needed him the most is he actually has the arrogance to think this would somehow be okay. How he treated Tennessee was unforgivable. He got what he deserved being fired the way that he did while at USC.
Overall, for us to collectively rally behind Brando with all the stuff he has said over the years, that speaks volumes to Kiffin's character. Just when we thought he was a changed man leading Ole Miss in Oxford, he turned heel and became even more morally bankrupt in the process. Never change, Lane. Never change... The shame in it all is he has made it that much harder for LSU to return to glory.
If anybody can relate to what Ole Miss fans are going through now with Kiffin, it would be Vol Nation.
