Tristen Keys isn't the only 5-star WR Tennessee football is working to flip

Keep an eye on the Oregon pledge moving forward.

If your school holds a verbal pledge from a standout wide receiver, Tennessee football and head coach Josh Heupel aren't going to give a darn about that. Right now, there's a ton of focus on 5-star wideout Tristen Keys, as there's buzz he could flip from LSU to the Vols.

However, he's not the only top target that Heupel is working on. For the 2027 class, Nashville native Kesean Bowman is one of the top receivers in the country. He's currently committed to Oregon, but could he end up playing his college ball in his home state? That's what Heupel is hoping for and according to Hayes Fawcett, the speedster will be in Knoxville on an unofficial visit for the Georgia game:

It should be no surprise at all that the Vols are still working hard on Bowman. He's only in his junior season at the Brentwood Academy, which is a little over three hours away driving from the UT campus. With it being so close to home for Bowman, it's an easy shot over.

When the Vols first missed out on his pledge and Oregon landed him, it was rough news. However, he can't make anything with the Ducks official until the Early Signing Period come December 2026 - that's more than enough time for Heupel and his staff to make something happen.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Bowman is ranked five stars, the No. 6 WR in the country, No. 2 player from Tennessee and No. 36 player nationally for the '27 class. He holds nearly 40 offers to his name this cycle, picking Oregon over 37 others.

For now, Bowman is Eugene-bound, but Heupel getting him to town for the Georgia game could end up making a huge difference for his recruitment. He'll also visit Ohio State, Texas and Oregon this fall, but with all these new trips on his schedule, it's safe to assume his process is far from over. Nope, not by a long shot.
