It's August and football is back - let's go! And for Tennessee fans, fall camp is in full swing, while the team's 2027 commits are starting to get ready for monster senior years too. That's the case for 5-star running back David Gabriel Georges, who made his '26 debut in a scrimmage on Friday night. It's safe to say things went brilliantly for him.

Yes, this was only a scrimmage, but on his very first touch of the summer, he took a handoff and broke free for a 54-yard touchdown run. Take a look at the clip below, and try not to be impressed on what the UT pledge was able to do with the pigskin in his hands. Yup, he's the real deal, and his future in the SEC simply could not be brighter:

David Gabriel Georges must have Tennessee fans dreaming after winning over the internet
As soon as clips of DGG's touchdown run hit the internet, things quickly started to take off, which shouldn't be surprising in the slightest. On this particular play, the speedster took the handoff, broke several tackles, made his way outside and sprinted his way into the end zone. Oh, and Buford are the reigning national champs, which makes things even better.
Sure, if this was a regular season game, then maybe different defensive game plans would have been present, and perhaps DGG wouldn't have reached the end zone. But we're not going to play the what if game here. He got the ball and did his job in making sure no one would bring him down before he put some points up on the board for the Baylor School.
Georges will be ready to do that throughout the 2026 campaign, and then he'll graduate high school and make his way to Knoxville to get his college career going. He'll do so with massive expectations, as he committed to the Vols ranked five stars, the No. 2 running back in the country, and No. 9 prospect nationally according to the 247Sports Composite.
This summer, Georges committed to the Vols, who were able to come out on top of a heated battle with Ohio State and Ryan Day. Ole Miss was also hoping to receive some good news, but Josh Heupel and his staff knocked things out of the park, while a reported NIL deal worth $6 million over three years was always going to be tough to turn down too. With DGG already turning heads ahead of Week 1 for high school action too, it only adds to the hype surrounding his name. Yup, this kid is going to be a superstar for Heupel and Co.
