Dalton Knecht is quickly becoming a valuable asset for the Los Angeles Lakers in his rookie season. He's only been in the NBA for a little over a week, so his performance is still a relatively small sample size of what is potential to come in the future, but Lakers fans are already buying into the hype.

In five games thus far, he is averaging 8.2 points, 1.2 rebounds, and assists per game while shooting 45% from the field. That's not too bad for a guy considered to be too old to be drafted in the lottery of the NBA Draft.

Despite the doubt, Lakers fans are excited to have the former Tennessee superstar in the City of Angels. So excited that some young fans believe Knecht is the face of the NBA in a recent video posted by Overtime on X

While some are still holding on to LeBron James and Stephen Curry, these young fans are looking forward to the future with Knecht as a future key player for the Lakers.

They also got an excellent showing from Knecht on Wednesday night against the Cavaliers. He played 22 minutes and shot 50% from the field, finishing the night with a career-high 18 points, three rebounds, and one assist.

Of course, VolTwitter showed the video and young fans some love, saying they have "elite ball knowledge" and "those kids obviously know ball," as several commenters and reporters across Vol Nation agree with the young fans.

Knecht and the Lakers' next game will be against the Raptors in Toronto on Friday night. The Lakers are 3-2 so far, with both losses coming on the road, so they will look to get right against a struggling 1-4 Raptors.
