A second Zeigler is in the market for a new basketball team. Zakai Zeigler's younger brother, Armoni Zeigler, has announced he is entering the transfer portal after his sophomore season, which ended with a 12-16 record.

Armoni averaged 11.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game in his sophomore year for Saint Peter's. The 6-foot-4, 185-pound guard brings size and physicality as a transfer player.

The two Zeigler brothers have met on the court once, in the 2024 season, when Tennessee and Saint Peter's met in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Zakai and the Vols beat the Peacocks 83-49, but after a solid sophomore season, Armoni is looking to take his game to the next level and possibly compete for a P4 team like Zakai.

Armoni was the only true freshman on the roster last season and has followed that up by earning ten starts and 33 appearances this year. He shot 38.7% from the field and 34.8% from three-point range on the way to averaging over 11 points per game.

He has a career-high of 30 points, 13 rebounds, and four assists at Saint Peter's, setting a decent foundation to build on wherever he decides to transfer.

College basketball's transfer portal window officially opens Monday, March 24, and will remain open for the next 30 days. This window allows players throughout the sport to transfer out of their current schools.

The timing of the college basketball transfer portal is as poorly timed as college football's transfer portal window, as it directly interferes with players and coaches competing for a national championship.
