Over a month ago, I started providing you with a positional breakdown of all the scholarship offers the Vols had extended to recruits in the 2015 class. It all began with the safeties and moved forward through the defense from there. The specialists and athletes transitioned you from the defense to the offense, and I moved from the line, to the backfield, to my most recent offer list, which covered the remaining quarterback targets for Tennessee in 2015.

Now we reach the conclusion. The last two positions were saved for the final list because they hold some of the more high profile prospects the Vols are targeting that aren’t on the defensive line.

The final positional breakdown: Wide receivers and tight ends.

The Vols landed quite a haul at both positions in 2014, adding 5-star receiver Josh Malone, 4-star JUCO receiver Von Pearson, 3-star athlete/receiver Vic Wharton III, 4-star tight end Daniel Helm, and 3-star tight end Ethan Wolf. All five players are expected to either start or compete for significant playing time in 2014, and Butch Jones and his staff are after a similar haul for 2015.

So far Tennessee has offered 36 receivers and 9 tight ends in the 2015 class, and they are high on the list of some of the most elite at both positions. Of the 45 total players offered, 25 of them are committed elsewhere at the moment.

Tennessee currently holds commitments from both a wide receiver and a tight end in the 2015 class, and both figure to play huge roles immediately.

The wide receiver the Vols have committed in 2015 is none other than Preston Williams.

Williams is a 5-star wide receiver who is the No. 19 overall recruit in the nation and the 2nd best receiver in the country. Only Kahlil McKenzie is rated higher in Tennessee’s 2015 class.

The Hampton, Georgia product committed to the Vols way back in September of 2103, giving Tennessee an early boost in its 2015 class that now boasts 22 players in total. As a junior in high school, Williams caught 59 passes for 1,388 yards and 14 touchdowns. He, along with McKenzie and a few other Vol commits, attended The Opening two weeks ago, and he impressed scouts enough to move up even further in several scouting services.

At 6-4, 191 lbs, Williams has immense size and is the type of big-bodied receiver that coaches love to have. He’s not the fastest receiver on the field, but he’s certainly no slouch either. He can use his size to be an effective deep threat, and he possesses great football intelligence. He chose Tennessee over Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, Florida State, Miami, Georgia, and many others.

Williams gives the Vols yet another elite receiver to add to their ranks, and it’s because of players like Preston that Butch Jones can confidently call Tennessee “Wide Receiver U.”

The tight end commitment for the Vols in 2015 is Kyle Oliver.

Oliver is a 3-star tight end out of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He plays at Oakland High School where he is used as both a wide receiver and a tight end, and at 6-5, 228 lbs, it’s easy to see why he can be used as both. The 247Sports Composite has him ranked as the 18th best player in the state.

As both a sophomore and junior, Oliver caught 31 passes, going for 395 yards and 5 scores as a sophomore and bumping up his total yards to 505 as a junior. Oliver was one of the 5 players to commit in a single weekend back on Tennessee’s first Orange Carpet Weekend in late June. He chose Tennessee over Louisville, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Purdue, and several others.

Oliver packs a punch with his frame, and he has very good hands for a tight end. He’ll be a useful tight end/receiver hybrid for the Vols in 2015 and beyond.

The Vols still have several elite targets remaining on their board for the 2015 class, and they could be accumulating an embarrassment of riches at the receiver and tight end positions.

Will Tennessee add more playmakers at two vital positions? This last 2015 offer list will show you who the Vols could land at the receiver and tight end positions for 2015 to add to their already impressive 2015 class.
