On Monday morning the Vols landed a commitment from the top player in the state of Tennessee.

Less than 12 hours later they learned they are in the top ten of another top in-state recruit.

Four-Star defensive end Kyle Phillips of Nasvhille, TN (Hillsboro) tweeted his top ten schools on Monday evening.

Phillips is obviously one of the Vols’ top 2015 targets. He’s a game-changing defensive end that Tennessee desperately needs.

The 6’4″/255 lb Tennessee native is rated as the fourth best player in the state by 247Sports.

Landing Phillips won’t be easy for the Vols, but Butch Jones’ commitment to “owning the state” will certainly give Tennessee a leg up in Phillips’ recruitment.
