Since everyone in the college football blogosphere is writing about five-star quarterback Torrance Gibson, I guess it makes sense for the talented recruit to start blogging on his own terms.
Gibson told us on Tuesday evening that the blog, which he’ll post “several times”, will cover a wide variety of topics. It should be quite interesting to hear a high school recruit’s viewpoint, especially if he discusses any recruiting tactics that school’s have used with him.
The Florida native is arguably the most coveted 2015 dual-threat quarterback in the nation.
And for good reason.
Gibson is not only the Volunteers top 2015 quarterback target, but he’s undoubtedly their overall top 2015 target.
Gibson has all the tools to be a successful quarterback in the SEC. He has a great arm, above average accuracy and the ability to make plays with his legs. Gibson is not only the Volunteers top 2015 quarterback target, but he’s undoubtedly their overall top 2015 target.
The news of redshirt freshman Riley Ferguson’s likely departure from Tennessee makes Gibson all that more important for Butch Jones and the Vols.
Not that Ferguson was necessarily going to be a key component for the Vols’ success this season (or in 2015 and beyond), but with the quarterback situation far from settled, it’s one less piece that Jones will have to play.
Gibson tweeted on Sunday that he would be releasing his top seven schools at some point this week. The 6’4″/200 lb quarterback named Tennessee his leader on May 5.
It’s widely speculated that UT and Auburn are the schools to beat to get Gibson.
Those are also the two schools where Gibson would fit the best.
Tennessee is in a great position with Gibson right now. If anything their position improved on Tuesday night with Ferguson’s potential departure.
