Vols Football 2015 Offers: Defensive Ends
5. Rasool Clemons
Speaking of slender, athletic defensive line prospects, Rasool Clemons is just that.
At 6-6, 212 lbs (though reportedly he has gained about ten pounds), Clemons is a tall, nimble athlete who has a penchant for disruption. He’s ranked the No. 7 player in the state of South Carolina. He’s been clocked at 4.68 in the 40-yard dash, and the 4-star weak-side defensive end has proven himself worthy of consideration by top SEC schools.
The Aiken, South Carolina product registered 52 tackles, 7 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks, and 4 forced fumbles as a sophomore in 2012. He even played some cornerback as a freshman, so he can drop back in coverage if need be as well.
Clemons is a versatile athlete who could really help the Vols in a number of positions on defense. If he continues to add on weight and strengthen his frame, he most certainly could be a force off the edge for an SEC defense.
Right now, LSU and South Carolina appear to be front runners for Clemons, but the Vols are right in the mix of things to potentially land the nimble pass rusher.
