7. Joshua Alabi

Tennessee need bodies along both the defensive and offensive line, and they showed in the 2014 class that they will recruit guys who can play along both lines. The ability to play on both lines is what makes Joshua Alabi so intriguing for the Vols.

Alabi, a 3-star strong-side defensive end/offensive guard prospect, has the size and strength to play on either line, and he’s done both in high school.

The Detroit native is primarily being recruited as a defensive end, but his size makes him an intriguing option to try at the offensive line. Alabi measures in at 6-5, 270 lbs and has the frame to add on even more pounds. He could even play defensive tackle if the Vols wish to move him there.

Back on March 1st, Alabi named Michigan State and Tennessee as his firm leaders in his recruitment. Recently, however, Wisconsin and Miami have come on strong, and Alabi now says Michigan State, Tennessee, and Wisconsin are teams he’s high on.

Alabi has no timetable for his commitment, but his recruitment certainly appears to be interesting, as teams such as Miami and Wisconsin, who joined the recruitment late, have just as much sway over him as teams who have been recruiting him longer.
