Vols Football 2015 Offers: Defensive Ends
8. Marlon Gonzalez
A commitment does not bind a player to a school, and not player knows that better than Marlon Gonzalez does.
Gonzalez, a 3-star strong-side defensive end prospect, committed to Florida State over a year ago on June 14th. Less than a year later, however, he decided to reopen his commitment, and Tennessee may be benefiting the most from that decision.
The Cape Coral, Florida product has good size at 6-4, 260 lbs, and he had a productive season as a junior, registering 52 tackles, 6 tackles for a loss, and 2 sacks in 9 games (according to Max Preps).
Since reopening his recruitment, Gonzalez has been pursued heavily by many teams, but Tennessee has stood out among the rest it would appear. Whether or not the Vols can land him is another thing, but it would appear they have set themselves up in prime position to be a player in Gonzalez’s recruitment until National Signing Day.
