Tennessee fans were delighted on Thursday night to see Vol legacy (and five-star defensive tackle) Kahlil McKenzie commit to UT.
McKenzie is no doubt the biggest and most important recruit that Butch Jones has landed during his time on Rocky Top. The Vols’ newest commit will provide immediate help to Tennessee’s beleaguered defensive line when he arrives in 2015.
Here are a few other nuggets of information you may have missed while waiting on McKenzie to commit on Thursday.
- Four-star Vols quarterback commit Quinten Dormady took part in the Texas State 7-on-7 this past week. Here are some observations that were made about the Texas native.
Even without keeping feet underneath him as he scanned the field, #Vols QB commit Quinten Dormady was able to launch perfect bomb for TD.

Arm strength of #GoVols QB pledge Quinten Dormady easily apparent out here. Throwing tight spirals and the ball is jumping out of his hand.

- 2015 Defensive line commit Andrew Butcher announced he would be enrolling early at Tennessee and also reacted to McKenzie’s commitment.
Just finished both of my summer courses so I can be in position to graduate early!

And to answer all the questions I will be enrolling early

Butcher’s tweet about beating Alabama in a couple of years has since been deleted, but lives on via screen capture.
- Five-star WR Preston Williams impressed at The Opening and backed up his status as the nation’s top 2015 wide receiver.
Preston Williams is the No. 1 WR according to the 247Sports Composite & he has backed up that billing this week. http://t.co/teOKty0cof
