This will be the first meeting between UT and UMass.
The Volunteers also have non-conference matchups in 2017 scheduled against Southern Mississippi and Indiana State.
Tennessee still doesn’t have a “Power 5” opponent officially scheduled for 2017, though they are reportedly close to a deal with Georgia Tech to open the 2017 season.
After playing non-conference games against teams like Oregon and Oklahoma, Vol fans have to be relieved at the site of the Vols’ upcoming schedules over the next several seasons.
