Da’Rick Rogers Released By Colts After Alleged DUI
By Zach Ragan
Former Tennessee Volunteers wide receiver Da’Rick Rogers was released by the Indianapolis Colts after he was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence.
Rogers, who was kicked off Tennessee’s football team for allegedly failing multiple drug tests, went undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft.
The former Vol was signed by the Buffalo Bills, but he was waived before camp broke.
Rogers was signed by the Colts to their practice squad and wound up being promoted to the active roster for the last five games of the 2013 season. He had a break out performance in his second game as a Colt, catching six passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns.
Most players would probably be given the benefit of the doubt after a single DUI, but Rogers isn’t just any player. He was already on a very thin leash.
Da’Rick Rogers is another example of wasted talent. He was considered a sure-fire first round talent after a sensational sophomore campaign at Tennessee. Unfortunately he just couldn’t get it together and we’ll always wonder what could have been for the former Vol standout.
