You know you’re important (good or bad) when you see your likeness on the rock at Tennessee.
Lil Jon, a newfound friend of the Volunteers’ football program, had his face painted on the rock earlier this season, after his “third down for what” rally cry became a hit with fans at Neyland.
Sometimes the rock features messages to recruits that students deem “highly important”. Other times they display messages that aren’t nearly as friendly in tone (such as when Lane Kiffin left town).
This week, sophomore sensation Joshua Dobbs’ face made his debut on the rock at Tennessee.
Dobbs has led an offensive resurgence in Knoxville since taking over the starting quarterback duties. In his two starts, the Volunteers have scored 95 points (In Tennessee’s four games before Dobbs became the starter, the Vols only scored 77 points. That includes the 45-10 win against Chattanooga).
The Vols will need that same offensive production on Saturday night against Missouri (the Tigers are 22nd in the nation in total defense). If Dobbs can replicate his performance from his first two starts, the Vols will have no problem getting their sixth win of the season.
