Vols To Honor Eric Berry In final Game
By Zach Ragan
Earlier this week, it was announced that former Vol great (and current Kansas City Chiefs safety) Eric Berry would miss the rest of the season after doctors found a mass in his chest.
The fear is that Berry may have lymphoma.
On Saturday, Butch Jones tweeted that Tennessee would honor Berry with a special sticker on their helmets.
It’s wonderful gesture for one of the greatest Vols of all time.
Jones made a promise to embrace Tennessee tradition and the former players. He’s delivered on those promises more than anyone could’ve predicted.
Berry’s younger brothers, Evan and Elliot, are true freshmen at Tennessee this season. Evan is the team’s primary kick returner. Their father, James, is a former Vol captain.
There aren’t many families more Tennessee than the Berry’s. Our thoughts and prayers are certainly with Eric and his family during this extremely tough time.
