Rams Sign Former Vol Michael Palardy

The St. Louis Rams signed former Tennessee Volunteers punter Michael Palardy to their off-season roster on Monday, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Palardy, who went undrafted in 2014, spent last summer on the Oakland Raiders’ roster. He was waived before the season started, after undergoing an appendectomy.

The former Vol, at the time, looked like he was on pace to make the Raiders’ 53-man roster, as he was having a solid camp.

Palardy will obviously have to prove himself with the Rams and will have an uphill battle in front of him to make the team, but Vol fans know that he definitely has the talent to play in the NFL.

During Palardy’s senior season, he tied for first in FBS in punts that landed inside the 20-yard line with 33.

There was a legitimate case to call Palardy the Vols’ MVP in 2013 (just watch the South Carolina game, Palardy’s used his foot to help Tennessee win the field position game).

Even if Palardy doesn’t stick with the Rams, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see him on a 53-man roster next fall.
