Former Vol Chris Scott Re-Signs With Panthers
By Zach Ragan
Former Tennessee Volunteers offensive lineman Chris Scott re-signed with the Carolina Panthers on Monday, according to Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer.
Scott, a versatile offensive lineman that can play guard or tackle, played in eight games for the Panthers last season. He was signed from Carolina’s practice squad midway through the season.
The former Vol started eight games for the Panthers during the 2013 season.
Scott played at Tennessee from 2005-2009. The Georgia native (he attended the same high school, Lovejoy, as current Vol signee Preston Williams) started the final 39 games of his career at UT (those starts were split between left tackle and right guard).
NFL teams are always in need of solid offensive line depth and Chris Scott has proved he can be a contributing member of an NFL roster.
