Vols Recruiting: CJ Thorpe Offered By Tennessee

2017 defensive tackle/offensive lineman CJ Thorpe picked up an offer from the Tennessee Volunteers on Tuesday.

Thorpe is a 6’5″/308 lb recruit from Pittsburgh, PA (Central Catholic). He hasn’t been rated yet by Rivals or 247Sports.

The Pennsylvania native also has offers from Duquesne, Penn State, Pittsburgh and West Virginia.

Tennessee would certainly love to get a commitment from Thorpe, who already has the size to play in the SEC.

But I’m not sure how likely it is that UT can land the big man.

Thorpe is a Penn State legacy and we all know, first hand, how strong those family ties to a school can be.

The Vols could definitely make a run at Thorpe, but I would say Tennessee’s chances to snag him are low.
