Montori Hughes Has Opportunity For More Playing Time In Indianapolis
By Zach Ragan
Defensive tackle Montori Hughes only played in 12 games for the Indianapolis Colts last season, but he could have the opportunity for more playing time in 2015.
The Colts don’t have a lot of depth along their defensive line, which means the former Vol could force his way into a full-time role.
ESPN.com recently mentioned Hughes as a player that has the opportunity for more action.
"Zach Kerr, Montori Hughes, Kelcy Quarles and Jeris Pendleton are all in the mix for the job. Experience is not on the side of any of those players. They’ve combined to play a total of just 33 games in seven seasons."
Hughes, who started one game for the Colts last season while totaling 11 tackles and a fumble recovery, was drafted by Indianapolis in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL draft.
The Murfreesboro, TN native played at UT from 2009-10. He started fives games as a Vol and finished his career with 37 tackles and one sack.
Hughes was kicked off Tennessee’s football team in the summer of 2011 by then head coach Derek Dooley. He finished his collegiate career at UT-Martin.
