Vols Among College Football’s “Most Eager Fan Bases”

CoachingSearch.com recently spotlighted the ten college football fan bases that are most excited for the 2015 season to begin.

Tennessee, who is expected to compete for the SEC East in 2015, was among the fan bases that CoachingSearch.com considers “most eager” for the upcoming season.

From CoachingSearch.com

"The fan and administrative support of Butch Jones at Tennessee has been incredible, and the Vols are looking to make the step forward to more than a only bowl game after rocking Iowa in last year’s TaxSlayer Bowl. Tennessee returns basically everyone on offense under new coordinator Mike Debord, including talented quarterback Joshua Dobbs. The Volunteers play Oklahoma, Arkansas and Georgia at home and could be a popular pick to win the SEC East."

It’s been a long time since the Vols have been considered front runners in the SEC. The past half-decade has been rough on UT fans, but now it looks like the Volunteers, loaded with young talent, are poised to make a run.

Not only do some analysts think that Tennessee could win the SEC, but some folks have even picked the Vols as a darkhorse candidate to make college football’s “final four”.

It might be a bit early to deem Tennessee as a contender for the national championship, but if they stay healthy and the offense gels under Mike DeBord, then who knows?

Crazier things have happened. This is, after all, college football that we’re talking about.
