Da’Rick Rogers Released By Chiefs

Da’Rick Rogers has been released by his third team in as many years, as the Kansas City Chiefs cut ties with the troubled receiver ahead of mini camp.

The former Tennessee Vols wide receiver has run into plenty of off-the-field issues during his playing days, dating back to college (he was infamously kicked off the UT football team by then head coach Derek Dooley).

Rogers has shown plenty of flashes of talent during his brief time in the NFL (he had a nice run with the Colts at the end of his rookie season), but unfortunately he just doesn’t have the attitude to cut it in the NFL.

The Colts released Rogers last season after he was arrested for DUI. Rogers was sentenced to a day in jail earlier this year, but was still retained, at the time, by the Chiefs.

I’d be very surprised to see Rogers get another shot in the NFL. There’s plenty of talented wide receivers looking to make a team that don’t bring the off-the-field issues that Rogers brings to the table.
