Two Vols Revealed In ESPN’s #CFBrank

ESPN is using social media — Twitter to be exact — to get a discussion going about the top 100 best players in college football, via the hashtag #CFBrank.

43 of ESPN’s college football writers/analysts ranked their top 100 players. So far players 100-81 have been revealed and there are two Vols that have made the rankings thus far.

Junior cornerback Cam Sutton came in at #98 and senior linebacker/defensive end Curt Maggitt came in at #88.

Here’s what ESPN had to say about each player:

"Cam SuttonA picture of excellence since his arrival in 2013, Sutton has started every game for the Vols in his two seasons on campus. Undoubtedly one of the SEC’s best corners, Sutton had 37 tackles, four tackles for loss and 16 passes defended in 2014. Going into his junior year, Sutton may even be a bit underrated.Curt MaggittA key piece to the Vols’ pass rush, Maggitt is coming off an 11-sack season in which he also had 15 tackles for loss after missing all of 2013 with injuries. A senior on a team full of underclassmen, Maggitt will be an unquestioned leader of the defense on and off the field."

Players 80-61 will be released tomorrow and I fully expect to see more Vols make the list.

Josh Dobbs, Jalen Hurd and Derek Barnett should all definitely see their names make the cut (though maybe not tomorrow, all those guys deserve to be ranked a little higher). And there could be some more names popping up on the list too.

Good times are back on Rocky Top. Let’s see if Tennessee can deliver on all the hype.
