Former Vols: Denarius Moore Released By Bengals
By Zach Ragan
Former Tennessee Volunteers wide receiver Denarius Moore was released by the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday morning.
Moore signed with the Bengals this past off-season after playing four seasons with the Oakland Raiders.
The Texas native had a promising start to his career in Oakland, but steadily regressed during his time in the Bay Area.
Moore, who has 142 career receptions for 2,169 yards and 17 touchdowns, broke out as a senior at Tennessee, catching 47 passes for 981 yards (seventh best single-season total in UT history).
The Raiders drafted Moore in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
Moore should still have a change to latch on with a team before the season starts. He still has promising talent and he’s only 26 years old.
Perhaps a team like the Carolina Panthers, a franchise that desperately needs help at the wide receiver position, will give Moore a shot.
