2017 four-star defensive back Lamont Wade picked up an offer from the Tennessee Volunteers on Tuesday evening.
Wade is a 5’10″/185 lb cornerback from Clairton, PA (Clairton). 247Sports rates him as the second best 2017 player in the state of Pennsylvania and the ninth best 2017 cornerback in the nation.
Wade also has offers from Auburn, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, UCLA, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin, among several others.
57% of the 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions that have been made have Wade committing to Ohio State.
Wade will definitely be one of the most sought after 2017 defensive backs in the nation. But don’t count the Vols out just because he’s from the northeast. Butch Jones has proved he can recruit players from anywhere.
And if the Vols find success in 2015 and 2016, then it’ll make recruiting out of region players that much easier.
