Vols Hold Morning Walk Through At Bengals’ Stadium
By Zach Ragan
The Tennessee Vols, thanks to the Breeders’ Cup, are staying in Cincinnati for their game against Kentucky on Saturday night.
So because of that (Cincinnati is a little over an hour from Lexington), the Vols held their walk-through at the Cincinnati Bengals’ stadium on Saturday morning.
Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis, who is friends with Butch Jones (presumably from Jones’ time as the Cincinnati Bearcats head coach), even stopped by to see the Volunteers.
While I’m sure it was a cool experience for the players to work out in an NFL stadium, it was probably wasn’t nearly as big of a deal as it would be for some college players. Paul Brown stadium (seats around 65,000) isn’t nearly as large as Neyland Stadium (which seats over 102,000).

Brian Kelly Once Poked Fun At Butch Jones And Marvin Lewis:
Here’s a fun side note about Jones and Lewis. Former Cincinnati head coach Brian Kelly (currently at Notre Dame), once made quite the joke at the expense of Butch Jones (his successor at Cincinnati) and Marvin Lewis at a roast in 2011.
From CBS Sports:
"“I had a steak named after me at The Precinct. It was 12 ounces, and I thought that was fitting for someone who went 12-0,” Kelly joked to the crowd. “But I’m no longer on the menu… So Jeff and I cut a deal. He said, ‘Here’s what I’ll do for you. How about if I cut Butch Jones’ and Marvin’s steak down to 4 ounces, since they only won four games?’ ”"
Jones never did win 12 games at Cincinnati, but he did manage to win ten games in 2011.
