His name was drug through the mud for months due to two unsubstantiated allegations. But Peyton Manning was cleared of at least one of those allegations on Monday afternoon.

ESPN’s NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported that the future Hall-of-Famer was cleared of any use of HGH after a seven-month NFL Investigation.

The accusations against Manning first came about in December after an Al Jazeera report. But the reporter involved later denied that Manning was ever outright accused of specifically using HGH, noting that there were just reports of HGH shipped to him during 2011 while he was sitting out due to a neck injury.

However, the HGH was sent to his wife, who had given birth to twins that year, and reports have suggested that HGH is a common post-birth prescription for people who have twins.

Of course, some people may say that the NFL did not want the public hit they would take if one of their most beloved superstars was guilty of using PEDs, but they clearly didn’t mind doing that with Tom Brady.

So at this point, Manning appears to have been exonerated.
