Tennessee vs Alabama is set for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on CBS. The Crimson Tide will be the fourth straight game for the Volunteers in that time slot.

The Vols are living on CBS this year. Tennessee vs Alabama will be the fourth straight week that CBS’s game of the week features the men from Rocky Top.

College GameDaey is headed to College Station, Texas, this week for the Tennessee-Texas A&M game, which is also on CBS.

Next week, the Vols will host the Tide in Knoxville for the CBS game. Both are scheduled for 3:30 p.m., just as the last two were.

Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson will broadcast each one once again.

Up until the Tennessee-Georgia game last year, the Vols were a complete mess on CBS. They hadn’t won a game in front of the main crew, which is Verne and Gary, since 2006. And they hadn’t won a game on the channel period since 2010.

However, in an 11-game winning streak and 12 out of 13 games run since that Georgia game last year, the Vols have seen a reversal of fortunes.

They’ve gone 3-1 in front of Verne and Gary with their only loss a late fourth-quarter one on the road…to last year’s Tide, who ended up winning the national championship.

So at this point, a 3:30 p.m. CBS game seems exciting to many Vols fans. It looks like they’ve embraced the college football media spotlight in Butch Jones’s fourth year.

And after last week’s Hail Mary on CBS, they may be getting some luck to finally fall their way also.

Maybe that station is exactly what the Vols need to change their fortunes in the Tennessee vs Alabama series.

Heck, this was the crew calling the game the last time they won.
