The Volunteers are right in the thick of the national title race now. Here is the All for Tennessee official College Football Playoff Watch after Week Five.

We still have 16 undefeated teams in FBS, meaning the College Football Playoff outlook is completely up in the air.

But it’s fun to speculate, right?

Heck, it is for Vols fans. After all, they haven’t had a chance to be mentioned in the race ever since it began in 2014. So with the first round of October games now in the book, it’s time to take a look at where things stand right now.

There are quite a few teams who could still be in the College Football Playoff hunt with the season not even halfway over yet.

But we are through five weeks of the season, and now we are full-on into Fall. This is what football season is all about.

As we get set to bring you our College Football Playoff projections for 2016, it’s important to note that these are not power rankings.

We base our rankings on record and strength of schedule. We will divide things up by tiers each week. We’ll first take a look at the top four teams that we have in the playoff.

Then we take a look at who will face whom in which bowl game. And after that, we’ll list the teams that control their own destiny to get in and the teams still in the hunt.

Of course, there are tons of teams that fit this category right now. So let’s find out who they are.
