The women’s version of the SEC is completely different from the men. It’s beyond clear who’s relevant and who isn’t. However, once you separate teams by class, you can rearrange them in any way. So it still makes our SEC Power Rankings difficult to do.

On top of that, a couple of upsets will sneak into a week and throw everything for a loop. That’s what happened this past week to one of the top teams in the conference.

As we get set to bring you this week’s women’s basketball SEC Power Rankings, it’s great news for the Tennessee Lady Vols. They are climbing back up, but how far did they jump?

We’ll break that down along with the spot they took from another team. The program that was in their spot last week had a significant drop, which we will also discuss.

You could not get a more top-heavy conference than the SEC, but the top at least consumes half the league. Seven SEC teams are in the Top 25 of the RPI, and six are in the AP Top 25. Meanwhile, the bottom seven are outside of the Top 90, with three ranked No. 130 or below.

Simply put, there are currently no NCAA Tournament bubble teams in the league. Everybody is either in or out. Could a team play their way on, though? Could one of the top teams play their way off? Well, that’ll throw these rankings for a loop if it happens.
